The Lord Has Risen!
It has been a fantastic Holy Week. It ended today with a great day of church and family. Jacob sang in church again for Maundy Thursday and it was such a nice program. It was at a different church than our own and since I had to take Will to nursery in a strange place I let Lauren stay with him. It has been a long time since Preston and I have sat on a pew together and been able to fully focus on the sermon.
Yesterday we had two soccer games and Preston spent the day working on Jacob's dirt bike to get it ready for the next race. His first race was a real bummer. We drove last Friday to Abilene where he ended up being the only rider in his class. He was able to race against other classes, but he was guaranteed two trophies since he of course would place first. He is so proud of those things. Preston and I get so tickled all the time because he dusts them daily. The mean the world to him :). We left on Saturday to go to the big race in Lubbock. It was beyond miserable. The wind and dust left you completely filth and nasty and any other really bad descriptive words you can think of. It was BAD. He raced the first race and place somewhere around 13th out of 20. I was really proud. It was his first major race and the track was huge. The next three races proved a bit more challenging. In fact his bike broke all three times and he wasn't able to finish any of the other races. We were all a little frustrated, but had a lot of fun together. And even better, we stayed at a hotel and I did not get all grossed out. I behaved very well. I even slept under the sheets. ha! His next race is in Odessa this coming weekend and we are hoping for a much better outcome.
There has been so much going on in our life that is amazing and wonderful. I am so far behind on updates I don't even know where to begin. But I do know that God is so good. He always provides and he had blessed us immensely. We are so grateful. With that, I hope you all have had a wonderful Easter and were able to reflect on why this day is so very important to Christians. There is no greater gift than the one we were given this day.
